What is up with the new information technology guy at work? All he ever talks about is how special he is because he has some CISSP certification. Does he think that I really care that he took some kind of CISSP training? As much as he talks about it, you would think I would at least know what it stands for, but he has yet to mention that thrilling tidbit of information.
Then there was the whole thing about how he took some sort of ethical hacker training. Is there even such a thing as ethical hacker training? That doesn’t even make sense to me. I thought they sent people to jail for hacking, yet this guy has been taught to do it ethically. Come to find out later that it’s big business and a very much in demand qualification. Who would have known?
Somebody needs to pull this guy off to the side and clue him into what normal people talk about.
There is way more to life that babbling on in computer jargon about things like training that nobody cares about. Seriously, let’s talk about football or chicks instead. But that won’t happen. Instead, I’ll be sitting there minding my own business at work, and you’ll poke your head into my cubicle and enlighten me with some ridiculous comment about how you took some training class in creating ethical computer viruses. OK yes, I think the idea of training someone to be an ethical hacker is actually pretty interesting, but I will never admit it to him, or I’ll never hear the end of it.
