One of my greatest flaws is that I often dismiss things as being not of interest to me even though I really don’t know that much about them. Luckily I have friends who often force me to try things anyway so that I discover that I like things that I would otherwise not have tried.
A few of the things that I’ve tried recently that I was surprised to like have included:
- Airsoft. I didn’t think that I’d like airsoft at all so I was surprised to find that I enjoyed both kwa airsoft and echo1 airsoft.
- Reading celebrity gossip blogs. I was never all that interested in celebrity gossip so I assumed I wouldn’t like these blogs but there is something about their interactive format that makes me really enjoy reading them.
- Playing iPhone games. I don’t like most video games and I really don’t like messing around with small phone screens so I was shocked to discover that I can play games on the iPhone for hours at a time without getting bored.
These are just three examples of things that I thought I’d dislike and ended up liking. The lesson that I’m trying to learn is that I should try things first before I decide that I don’t like them!
