When I finished my college degree in addictions counseling I immediately started trying to find work, looking in my home state at several local alcohol treatment centers. Florida was where I was currently living, but I was trying to find work back home.  I was having little to no luck, so I thought I’d try my luck in Florida. Drug treatment was really the area I wanted to specialize in and Florida has some wonderful state of the art facilities.

After a few months of applying for positions, I was finally granted an interview and was almost immediately hired on at a top Florida drug rehab center as a part time counselor.  I immediately fell in love with my work and I quickly moved into a full time position.   I enjoyed helping the people I was counseling and was happy to find that the work environment, while it could be stressful, was also very supportive and unified.

I still want to move back home someday, but right now I am very happy where I am and I am very appreciative of the job I landed.  It is nice to wake up everyday feeling as if you are making a difference.
