Parents, be extra careful what you let your children take to school.  Recently, my local high school has instituted a rule that give zero tolerance to any type of weapon.  It does not matter whether it is real or fake, if you take a gun into a high school, you will be suspended up to expulsion.

Unfortunately, one student found out the extreme nature of the rule the hard way.  He took an airsoft gun to school.  It wasn’t even loaded.  Him and some buddies were going to mess around in the backyard of a house after school and so he decided that he would just bring it with him.

The gun was a kwa airsoft gun fashioned to look like a M16.  When he was discovered with it, the police were called, and he was escorted out of the school in handcuffs.  Upon investigation of the gun, they were able to clearly determine it was just a paintball gun.  The student received a 3 day suspension from school for the incident.

Schools have really begun to crack down on guns and weapons due to the many tragic stories that we have heard in recent years.  While some of the rules seem extreme, most parents would rather put up with a rule that was too extreme in order to keep their children safe.
