I need to move my twin babies out of their cribs and buy them actual big girl beds. I really dread the day I make the switch because I have visions of interrupted nights and late night games. Sometimes when the babies are in their crib, they call for bottles. It makes me wonder if when they are in beds, will they simply climb out of bed, make their way down the stairs, turn on the kitchen light and prepare a midnight feast. What should I expect?
They are two and a half years old and it is time for them to graduate from the crib, but I still feel nervous about making the switch. I even worry about the safety in the decision. I will probably buy beds with the little arms that can pop up to help save the tiny toddlers from rolling out of bed. When they jump into my queen bed I have never had an issue with either one of them falling out, but these are issues mothers worry over.
On NBC nightly news, I heard that most babies are out of their crib by around two years of age. I wish they provided more statistics when it comes to twins since twins are often a bit smaller than the average baby.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackI have a 2 year old girl and I am in the same postion as you. I really dont want to take her out of her crib right now. She wakes up asking for her bottle and I can see her just getting right out of bed and getting it herself or she will at least try and get herself. I dont know what to do either?!
My wife is looking into buying a new bed for our son. I keep telling her that he is to young. He just turned two not even a week ago and she wants to put him in a normal bed. We argue about it everyday and I just dont know what to do anymore. I think he should stay in his crib till he is at least 2 and 1/2 years old but she thinks he is ready for a new bed now.
I didnt take my daughter out of her crib till she was three years old. I think that if the child is doing fine in the crib then why take them out of it. Her first bed was a twin bed and it had sides on it so she wouldnt fall out when she was sleeping. It is a hard to switch your child to a normal bed but everything will work out.
