Everyone has certain products that they absolutely love. People should do what they can to support those products. This helps others to learn about great products. It also helps the businesses that you care about to stay in business. This benefits you since it means that they’ll keep making those products.
The first thing that you need to do is to figure out which products you really love and why. For example, there’s a diet cookie that I love because it tastes great and it’s affordable. There’s a sugar scrub that I adore because it makes my skin soft. And there’s a particular chocolate store that I adore because they take such exquisite care in designing their chocolates.
After you know why you love your products, you simply need to spread the word. Tell everyone why you like these things. Link to their websites in your email signature. Write up a review for your blog or social networking site. Offer to write up a testimonial for their site.
It’s also nice to just let these businesses know that you support what they’re doing. A handwritten letter expressing your love for the products is ideal. Alternatively, an email or even a phone call can be a short and sweet way to let business owners know that they’re doing a great job.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackIn this economy, it’s even more important to support and promote the products that you do believe it, because more than likely they don’t have the advertising budget they used to and are counting on word of mouth and consumer loyalty.
I love Cadbury chocolate, which is kind of hard to find over here but I fell in love with it overseas, Ugg boots (but I don’t think they really need my business) and my LLBean flannels. I’m a comfy cozy kind of girl.
As a small business owner I really do appreciate it when people come in to talk to me and let me know how we’re doing, good or bad. Too often you don’t get reinforcement except from the bottom line.
I’ve been hording some of my favorite products A) because there have been sales lately and B) because I’m really afraid the businesses will go out of business! Better to stock up now while I can hopefully help their bottom line.
What’s a diet cookie? Please tell me that it’s totally guilt free but tastes like it’s the best thing on earth? Tell me that and I’ll be a happy girl!
You can also get involved in some basic promotion on twitter or social media sites. And basically just keep talking about it! That will always help.
This is, quite literally, what will help a business sink or swim; the amount of dedication that its users have for it. You could mean the difference between the business staying open or not.
