Right now my boy is 3 years old.  In 15 years, he will be old enough to be responsible for a boat.  Right now that boat is mine, and I use it to take him fishing on, and my wife out for sun and alone time.  For this baby to continue to run like it does, I will keep using Mercury outboard parts for my outboard parts.  I use an online marine supply house to get them to me when I need them, and at a cost that can’t be beat.  I think he gets a kick out helping me by handing me a wrench or socket every so often.

This coming summer he is going to find himself going after some bass until he gets tired.  I don’t expect him to catch anything, but hope he finally learns the art of casting a spinner to make it count.  Right now he really likes going trout fishing on a lake somewhere.  It’s easy for him to sit and wait, and he gets a kick out if it when he hooks a rainbow.  What he really likes is watching Dad clean it and cook it that night so he can eat it.
